This date difference calculator tells you exactly how much time lies between two dates — the answer to "how many days between these dates?" in a single click. Pick a start date and an end date and it instantly works out the duration in years, months, and days, then breaks it down into total days, total weeks with the leftover days, whole calendar months, and total hours. How to find the difference between two dates
- Pick your Start date in the first field.
- Choose the End date — it defaults to today.
- Tick Include end date if the final day should count too.
- Read the exact years, months, and days as the result updates live.

How the calculation works
The tool counts whole calendar years and months first, clamping an anniversary such as the 31st or February 29 to the last valid day of a shorter month. It then counts the remaining days, so January 31 to February 28 is one whole calendar month while the total still shows 28 days. January 31 to February 28, 2026 is one whole calendar month and 28 elapsed days. A calendar month is not always 30 days. The leap-year example includes February 29, 2024, so February 28 to March 1 spans two days.
